Our good friends at Universal entrusted us to put together a multi-social-feed based microsite in preparation for the yearly song contest, Eurovision 2013.

Similar to the recent build of Ultimate Pop Stars, the page needed to pull in several social elements from the various networks into one central area so that fans of Eurovision have a hub to which they can visit and keep up to date with the latest happenings in the lead up to the May contest. Additionally, the release of Eurovision 2013 – The Album, needed a central gateway from which sales could be generated.

The site encompasses interactive audio widgets, a video carousel, Tumblr news embeds, competitions, Soundrop Room embeds, Twitter feeds, Pinerest and Instagram widgets along with a push toward the Facebook promotion on the very visual covers and artwork that the people at Eurovision have put together.

We’re very happy to have done our part for the annual event in the form of this one page microsite – so please do have a look and show your support!

Visit the new Eurovision 2013 page here.

She was runner up in the UK’s The Voice and now the talented British singer-songwriter Bo Bruce has a brand new official website, courtesy of The Frog!

We were approached by Virgin EMI (formerly Mercury Records) in February to take over the design and development of Bo’s website and we had a deadline which coincided with the release of her brand new album ‘Before I Sleep’ on April 29th (today!) so we went to work in creating a visual experience that was true to her brand, her music and her personality.

The website was put together to primarily feature a manageable video homepage which then takes you through to a fully loaded page with a grid-based combination of her latest news, videos, audio and images. Bo herself is a big tweeter, so integrating a live Twitter feed was a must along with the all important promotion of her brand new album which has already gained loads of momentum over the pre-order period. There will be certain articles that are promoted directly by Bo herself, so these are set up as highlighted articles.

The rest of the website features all the latest goings on – tour dates with ticket links, video playlists, an image gallery, interactive audio playlists and her products – once more become available, these will also follow the structure of the rest of the site.

We spent a lot of time on the initial designs which Bo’s management placed strong emphasis on the reflection of her personality and music – a vibe of nature and Celtic influences, semi transparent and soft elements to create a tranquil setting around a site that needed ease of navigation and strong callouts for the important areas.

About Bo Bruce

Bo Bruce is an English singer-songwriter who is signed to Mercury Records. In December 2010 Bruce independently released a self-written 5-track EP, entitled Search the Night, which peaked at no.2 on the iTunes album charts.

We’re very excited to bring you the official Bo Bruce website and we’ve had some awesome feedback from the guys down at Virgin EMI as well as Bo and her management! Check out the brand new website here.

The Frog runs riot at the O2 Arena for three days on the trot, shooting Ne-Yo, Tulisa, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes and Tim McGraw!

The Frog runs riot at the O2 Arena for three days on the trot, shooting Ne-Yo, Tulisa, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes and Tim McGraw!

It’s been a VERY long, but VERY eventful and successful three days for Flex. Kicking off on Friday, I was issued with a pass by Mercury Records to shoot Ne-Yo his support, Tulisa at the O2 Arena. Having been granted pit access, it was great to go to town with creative angles and get right up close and personal. Delighted with the final results, capturing some really colourful shots of Ne-Yo, courtesy of an amazing production team. The obligatory three song rule was in place, but as most artists tend to do, they diversify their set list to give us a broad range of shots. Both Ne-Yo and Tulisa were in fine form and the O2 Arena’s restaurants and bars were rammed with fans pre-show.

On Saturday and Sunday, I made the journeys back and forth for two full days of shooting the Country 2 Country music festival thanks to 2country.net, brought over by the CMA in Nashville and MC’d by BBC Radio 2′s Bob Harris. It was a great opportunity to join other regular photographers in the media room at the O2 and spend some time networking (I do hate that word though!) and getting to know the peers. On Saturday, we had a photo call and pre-show interviews in the media room with two country music legends, Tim McGraw and Vince Gill, alongside the ever-so popular Little Big Town and Sugarland’s Kristian Bush – all of whom were most welcoming to the paps in the room. Then onto the stage we went. Unfortunately for Little Big Town and Vince Gill we were relegated to the mixing desk, which made things a bit tricky, but which also held me personally in good stead as I worked on my adjustments in readiness for the following evening’s blockbuster Carrie Underwood. Tim McGraw was dynamic on stage – a proper cowboy with cowboy lyrics and a huge stage presence. We were so fortunate to be given pit access for Tim, which gave me the opportunity to come back with some amazing shots. A highly successful day on the whole.

The following day was the cream of the weekend. Pit access for the awesome country rocker Brantley Gilbert, followed by mixing desk access for the talented LeeAnn Rimes, where I was nearing the perfecting stage of manipulating the 500mm lens, and then up close and personal again with the charismatic and vocally brilliant Darius Rucker (a.k.a. Hootie!). Then it came. Bob Harris introduced arguably the USA’s number one current female country singer – Carrie Underwood – and what a reception she got. Knowing in advance that this crowd would be on their feet from the get go, I opted to set myself behind the mixing desk, but raised up on a platform level with the videographers, so that I could shoot above the crowd. We only had two songs for Carrie, but I have to say, I was blown away by what I got. It was really nice to get compliments from fellow peers after the shoot as well. Needless to say I left the O2 with a big smile on my face.

A really long weekend of work, but thoroughly enjoyable. Big thanks again to Erica and Rob at 2country.net and Lauren at Mercury for slotting me in.

The photo sets are all up at our Facebook page, so please do have a look (and don’t forget to like us if you like what you see). Click here to check them out!

Mercury Records allocated us a press pass for Justin Bieber's Believe gig at O2, and confirmed access for next week's gig Ne-Yo featuring Tulisa.

Mercury Records allocated us a press pass for Justin Bieber’s Believe tour at O2 on Tuesday, and confirmed access for next week’s Grammy Award winning star Ne-Yo featuring Tulisa.

Headed on down to the O2 Arena on Tuesday ready to shoot the biggest male pop star in the world up close and personal. Unfortunately after gaining the pass, I was told that due to limited space and health & safety, the pit was out of bounds and whilst the night before, press were given access to the mixing desk, tonight we were relegated to Level 1 at the rear of the stadium. Not even a 400mm prime could really get us the creativity and 100% crop sharpness that we would have liked – limiting the use of the photos to digital. We still managed to capture the atmosphere of the night – which to be fair was further enhanced by almost 20,000 screaming teenagers! Man, do I feel old. First up was Australian pop star Cody Simpson, followed by Canadian belle Carly Rae Jepsen – both of which received tremendous support – clearly the correct support acts chosen for the target market.

Once Bieber came on stage, we were given the usual “three song” rule and fortunately he performed a variety of songs which did allow me to capture a selection of dazzling backdrops, effects and lighting – let’s face it, it’s all about the production design – and were then politely escorted from the mayhem. If I had known in advance – which is never really possible at these kinds of events – I would have sorted out a fast 500mm+ lens to get right up close to the action. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Just had confirmation today that next Friday I’m back at the arena to shoot giant Ne-Yo on the London stop of his world tour with special guest Tulisa Contostavlos (ex N-Dubz). Hoping to get proper pit access as I’m sure this will be a spectacular gig, but not taking any chances. Think I’ll be lugging around the 500mm f/4 monster for gig insurance! Stay tuned for the photos from that one.

To take a look at the full selection of shots from Justin Bieber’s concert, head on down to our Facebook page.

Our good friends down at 2country.net commissioned us to photograph the highly anticipated gig headlined by four massive names from Nashville – Chris Young, Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Rob DiPiero and Brett James.

We were fortunate enough to have photographed at the amazing Bush Hall last year (Pete Townshend), so we knew what a treat it would be – the ambient lighting in this venue gives off a truly warm glow which really complements the atmosphere of these kinds of intimate gigs.

So this year, the highly regarded CMA Songwriter Series brought four massive songwriters/performers to London to enthrall us with some of the most breathtaking acoustic melodies combined with some banter and stories that had the audience in stitches (none moreso than the ultra-charismatic Kristian Bush – one half of US superduo, Sugarland).

Equipped with our hardy SLRs, we snapped away over the first three songs from various intricate and sometimes awkward angles . A big thanks goes out to security for their flexibility for further shots throughout the night!

It’s always a pleasure to shoot live gigs, even moreso at amazing venues, but this was a real treat to see and hear some of the finest songwriting to come out of Nashville.

For a full selection of our best photographs, head on down to our Facebook page and check them out.

We're proud to announce our first big release of the year - the official website of the multi-million selling album series and hit London West End musical - Dreamboats & Petticoats - has gone live today!

We’re proud to announce our first big release of the year – the official website of the multi-million selling album series and hit London West End musical – Dreamboats & Petticoats – has gone live today!

We had a tight deadline to launch to coincide with the release of the brand new album, Dream Lovers on Monday, so in true Frog tradition, we hit the witching hour with all our might and added the final touches to the development and this morning, ahead of schedule, we’ve deployed the new site.

A fresh new look, a very manageable content management system, pages and pages of information on all the releases, tour dates, videos, cast & crew members, social integration and an archive of news dating back to 2009 – the new website has been given great feedback from the team at Universal. With a brand new online store under development, which will integrate seamlessly with the new site once completed and new tour dates to be announced soon, it completes several months of design and development which we’re very happy with and hope the fans of music from the golden era and the musical itself will find very engaging.

About Dreamboats & Petticoats

Dreamboats and Petticoats is a jukebox musical based on popular songs from the fifties and early sixties. The musical, featuring those songs of the rock ‘n’ roll era, is set around the years 1957 to 1963 and was written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran.

It was first performed at The Churchill Theatre in Bromley, England, in February 2009, followed by a UK tour. This run received rave critical reviews and widespread audience acclaim. It subsequently moved to the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End from July to September in 2009 and has since returned to London at its new location at the Playhouse Theatre. Well over a million people are reported to have seen the show.

Mikill Pane had an existing content-managed website, and we were approached by Mercury Records to see if we could build on it – the artist had some specific elements that he wanted to bring into his online presence and going forward, the idea is to integrate his online store directly into his artist website. So we took a look at the existing website – which served its purpose – but the drawback was that due to the out-of-the-box nature of the development, it meant building and growing it was going to cause some headaches.

So we came up with a solution. The site worked well, and the additional integration was only going to further engage users, and we suggested that we take what was currently there and redevelop it from a blank canvas. This meant that the site would retain the entire core framework and subsequently would ensure building upon it and growing it would be a breeze.

We made some alterations to layout and recoded the site in a way that would make updating it a treat rather than a ball-ache. In addition, the new functional and social elements that were needed have been implemented, including a full screen video background slideshow on the homepage, a bespokely written Instagram horizontal carousel which pulls in Mikill’s snapshots, the introduction of a news section and a few overall front end style adjustments to ensure a more consistent browsing experience.

Now, Mikill’s website can move forward with promise – and the integration of his online store, when ready, will be a straightforward process.

Mikill Pane’s website went live at 10pm tonight, launching as he was in the BBC Radio 1 studio with Phil Taggart and Alice Levine, and we’re happy to share it ’round. Check it out here.

In association with our good friends at London-based media agency Lux, we have today launched a revamped full-scale website and eCommerce solution for luxury men’s shirt brand Eton Shirts.

It has been a lengthy assignment, having been approached quite a while back by our friends at Lux to get involved in bringing Eton Shirts’ UK website up to speed with a brand new facelift and a more useable eCommerce solution than what they currently had. We iterated over a number of concepts to get the overall look & feel right and then Eton Shirts took the designs along with our recommendations away and scrutinised over the user experience model we offered and once completely confident in our approach to the site, we got given the go ahead for the development work.

With literally hundreds of products we then gathered all the assets of each individual product (fit, collar type, cuff variation, collar sizes, collection, colours etc.) and went to work in populating the online shop – an intrinsically detailed process, but one that needed to be done to ensure a seamless transition between the old and the new site.

Upon completion, we rigourously tested the buying journey from both the user’s and administrative perspectives and at 8.30am this morning, in conjunction with the launch of Eton’s winter sale, we launched the site. Two hours later, the sales have skyrocketed immediately, outperforming any previous campaigns they have compiled.

We have been advised by our friends at Lux that Eton UK are most pleased with the overall experience of the site and whilst early stages, we are thrilled that it’s kicked off with a bang.

About Eton Shirts

At Eton, we are proud of our heritage which dates back to the year 1928 when Annie and David Pettersson started a new business making fine shirts. Ever since, quality and attention to detail has been the heart of everything we do. We strongly believe that genuine craftsmanship combined with cutting edge weaving technology and a unique finishing process is our key to success. Over the years, we have been able to grow from a small two-person operation in Gånghester, Sweden, to a company known worldwide for our superior quality.
