‘In My Mother’s Arms’ has just been selected for Toronto Film Festival, and Kiss The Frog are designing the promo material for it.
We have just heard the news that Human Film’s latest endeavour, ‘In My Mother’s Arms’ has been selected to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this September.
We’ve seen the film, and once again, Mohamed’s vision and storytelling talents are incredibly moving. We’re well excited to be involved with the design of the marketing collateral for the film, including the one-sheet movie poster (which we can’t wait to see plastered all around the festival grounds!).
Co-directed by Mohamed, the film marks his brother Atia Al-Daradji’s directorial debut, premiering alongside them at Toronto are heavyweights of world cinema, Luc Besson and Fernando Meirelles.
The film is the story of Husham, a man that works tirelessly to build the hopes, dreams and prospects of the 32 damaged children of war, under his care at his small two roomed orphanage in Baghdad’s most dangerous district. When the landlord gives Husham and the boys just two weeks to vacate, a desperate search ensues.
The filmmakers hope the film will encourage Iraq to address much needed child protection laws, as according to UNICEF’s recent report, there are more than 800,000 orphans living in the country today, with 1 in 3 children being abused in state run orphanages.
Once again, congratulations, Isabelle, Mohamed and Atia for this achievement – we can’t wait to pull together the final artwork for you
