Kiss the Frog and Universal Music prepare for the launch of Ray Davies’ new website
Kiss the Frog are currently in the development of Ray Davies’ (The Kinks) new website to launch his highly anticipated collaborative album “See My Friends” on November 1st. Working with Ray’s label, Universal Music, we are putting together a showcase and social site, geared at the fans which will include tons of video, galleries, articles, reviews, competitions and more. In the final stages of development, the launch of the website is imminent.
“See My Friends” is a collaboration album which sees Ray Davies re-recording several Kinks songs with the likes of Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Mumford & Sons and Smashing Pumpkins amongst others.
Along with Ray, the special guests have re-imagined a number of the band’s most famous songs, including “You Really Got Me” and “Waterloo Sunset”.
“This project came about almost by accident,” Ray said. “With some tracks I had to appreciate the style of the other artists, otherwise it would have sounded unbalanced. And I wanted the album to work as an entire listening experience but each track had a life of its own.”
Ray travelled around the world – to studios in Chicago, New York and Denmark – in order to record “See My Friends.” The album also features Paloma Faith, Amy Macdonald and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody.
