Kiss The Frog have finalised and deployed The Official Kinks Website for Universal Music.
Never have song lyrics resonated so true like The Kinks’ “all day and all of the night” as with the design, build and migration of the new Official Kinks Website! An absolute pleasure to be working hard to the tunes of Lola, You Really Got Me and other classics, we are proud to have delivered the fully content managed site to Universal Music today, coinciding with the upcoming release of remastered Deluxe Editions of some of the Kinks albums.
The brief was to come up with a site that was filled with social elements and interactivity, which also had a true modern/retro feel to it. We started with the visual identity, integrating a Kinks typeface with the band members “pop-art” style and the rest of the site design just followed – ticket stubs, memorabilia and the like to bring the online exposure of such an influential group of musicians to life.
The site is fully integrated with the social side of things – very important for artists with such a following, utilising feeds along with the powerful Facebook and Twitter Connect APIs to enable quick and easy registrations using a fan’s existing memberships. Fully content managed, the ability for adding photos, videos, albums and other content is a piece of cake and we should see the depth of the site grow over time.
Once again, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with the guys down at the Strategic Marketing arm of Universal Music – and a nice accolade to hear that the band members themselves were more than pleased with the final outcome!
