No bullets in the gun, but a lot of shooting – Kiss The Frog capture Toby Keith at Wembley Arena, London
It seems like a good year for US country acts – earlier this year, Zac Brown impressed at Hyde Park when opening for Kings Of Leon and then blew down the Empire and gathered a whole new fanbase – then a few months later, Brad Paisley sold out O2 Arena and rocked Greenwich alongside Ronnie Wood, and now, a regular to our shores, Mr. Toby Keith pleased the masses at Wembley last night, and we were fortunate enough to get up close and personal using the old ’7D.
As part of his worldwide “Locked And Loaded Tour”, Toby and his entourage played for just over 90 minutes with a great blend of rocking country including all his hits – American Ride, God Love Her, How Do You Like Me Now, Get Drunk And Be Somebody, Beer For My Horses along with some great tracks off his new album Clancy’s Tavern – the new single Made In America, Red Solo Cup and others.
A seasoned performer and clearly a welcomed artist here in the UK, no doubt Toby and his band will be back soon, and judging by last night’s reception, he might need a bigger venue next time!
