The Frog shines at the CMA Awards.
We’ve just got back from our second stint in Nashville in the space of six months, this time shooting country music’s biggest night of the year – The CMA Awards!
An incredible week over in a much quieter Nashville than mid June, but still an electric atmosphere as everyone who is everyone was in town for the 47th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday 6th November. Landing on Tuesday a little late and unfortunately missing the international media reception, we wandered down to firstly check out the entertaining CMA Songwriters Series at the Country Music Hall Of Fame before getting ready for the big night.
A very long day on your feet – from 1pm through to almost 11pm – started off with the Red Carpet at Bridgestone Arena. Great that for the first year, there were fewer photographers, which meant less shoving and squeezing into tight spots. Two hours of shooting country music’s up-and-comers and elite including Cassadee Pope, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Kip Moore, Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambet, Carrie Underwood and loads more, including the cast of Duck Dynasty and Nashville.
Once we’d finished up on the red carpet, it was three solid hours on a raised platform by the soundboard to shoot the Awards ceremony, which I must continually reiterate, were out-of-this-world. A stellar job done by the CMA which was echoed by loads of people during my stay in Nashville. For a full set of the photos, head on down to our Facebook page.
We had also been commissioned to head down to Music Row on the following two days to do some promotional press shots for next year’s Country 2 Country Festival at the O2 Arena in London, which meant shooting Dierks Bentley and Rascal Flatts after their session with BBC Radio 2′s Bob Harris at Audio Productions Recording Studio on 18th Avenue.
After five exciting days in Nashville, we’ve returned with some very positive feedback from within the local and international media and entertainment industries so we’ll poised to return in the future.
