The Shires website, tour photography & EP cover.
Making waves in the British country music scene since their first big exposure at BBC House back in March are the brilliant duo The Shires, signed by Decca Records earlier this year and The Frog is proud to be a part of their journey.
Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle have really hit the ground running, currently on their Homegrown Tour of the UK, playing to sold out crowds around the nation, this has been an enthralling ride for this musically and vocally talented duo. We first saw The Shires play to a media reception after this year’s C2C Festival at the O2 and remember thinking there was something special about the two of them. Since then, they have travelled to Nashville to write their songs, enchanted audiences around the nation, signed with Decca, played alongside Cassadee Pope and Striking Matches, recorded an EP and album, put a very adept full band together and are now co-headlining their own tour. Apart from their musical brilliance, what makes Ben & Crissie so special is their sincerity and connection with their fans. You just have to be at one of their shows to see what impact their vocal harmonies has to people.
We got involved early on in getting to know Ben & Crissie – having already worked with Decca & Universal for a number of years, we felt we were best placed to bring an online presence to match their talent. Combining that with exclusive content that we’ve gathered over a number of events, both live, candid and portraiture, we went to work in designing and developing a full scale website and content management system so that The Shires fans would have a great resource to news, media, concert information, social network updates, retail and more.

The Shires fans are eagerly awaiting their debut album and to give a little taster, last month the guys recorded a live EP entitled The Green Note EP – recorded live at a boutique venue in North London – and it was absolutely stunning. We were there to capture stills of the day as well as a portrait shoot which was eventually used as the EP cover.
The Shires have fast become ‘the’ voice of country music in the United Kingdom, and having recently returned from Nashville, I’ve noticed a significant interest in the duo over there which is a great thing for the guys, but also for the respect of the British country music scene.
The Frog is extremely excited about these guys and so proud and thankful to be a part of the journey.
